This is a group project to create a mobile game!

This was made with Unreal Engine 4.

This is the trailer of the game, following this, I will be explaining in detail my part of the work and explain the game a bit further. As well I will also list the members of the project and what each person did in this project.

So lets first talk about what the game is about:

Lab Run is a Hyper Casual Endless Runner, intended to be a mobile game but its first release for the moment will be in PC as we keep working and fine tuning some finalizing touches to it. In this game you are a scientist that is running away from a failed experiment that is trying to kill you. So your scientist is running is the biggest secret government space station in hopes to find an escape pod and run from this murderous Experiment.

What exactly was my contribution to this project?

In this project, I was its Team Leader, Lead Programmer and Sound Design of the game. As a team leader I divided task effectively to each of the teams strengths, not only that I also added deadlines to their work so we could effectively do this as fast as possible.

My programming was the "Pick Ups" of the game like the "Laser Sword" that cuts through certain obstacles, which was tweaked by my gameplay programmer Orlando Sierra to even include obstacles that you cant cut through. From the the first prototype that we worked together we also grabbed most of the previous mechanics and improved them. If you are wondering from where we brought these previous mechanics, you can check in my portfolio and see the first prototype of an endless runner we tackled. From that project we evolved and we added newer mechanics as we went on, I even explored into creating the Sky Box of the Game to also making the sound effects for the Laser Sword, Gears, Character Sounds and others. I also helped on the UI Programming with Jhuan Soto, and I did edit a little with his code related to the speeds of the character as the game progressed. But for the most part we helped a lot each other as to programming along side one another. Also, some of the things I programmed were removed since we evolved a couple of things, for example we removed my speed pick up and Orlando changed the base controller mechanics of mine to a lane system which was much better for the endless runner, we also didn't include my AI and made another which just goes in one straight line of the map destroying everything. In conclusion, I was almost everywhere in this project, helped even designers from time to time in this project and I even edited the trailer, so I left a lot in this project everywhere, but my focus was to polish everything I did that looked so raw, so crude and make it into a nice looking game.

Where's the project at?

The projects it's at the last stages before publishing.

We are fixing bugs within the game, deleting assets that are not being used and polishing a couple of this before we release its fist version on itch.io so once is published there, ill attach a link here once it's a published game!
